How do you feel about law officials such as police officers and other law enforcement officials? Do you feel they treat you as an equal individual or do that treat you different because of your skin type or what you are wearing? These are questions me myself like to find the answer out to. I did a little research and have come to find some of this is true but also some of these statements are false. Police officers are actually dirty and don't like teenagers because what they see on t.v. or what they have encounter with teens in the past. Teenagers think cops are all out to get them and see this as everyone else and not as an individual and put this in the same group as all other teens .
Police are all seen as being bad and dirty in the teenage eyes. From all the interviews and the research I have come to find that 8 of every 10 teenagers have had a bad encounter with the law. Teens have heard of the stereotypes about cops and teens. So when in contact with police they think its going to be trouble. In this sense teens usually stay away from the cops and some even run before being in contact with police. They tend to run away from the law to prevent trouble. From the stories of police beating teens and police planting a substance on them just to take them to jail. All teenager take this in high consideration and know their consequences. Teenagers also put some situations on themselves by being disrespectful and not cooperating with them. But this they tend to treat you worse knowing you have no respect for them or what they do. Teenagers overall outlook on police officials is they there are good cops out their and some just are actually dirty and don't care about them but are more worried about their pay checks than the safety of them.
Police are not the total cost of this bad relationship. Teens give them things to worry about and the majority of them are just trying do their job. Teens just want noting to do with police be they are here to ensure our safety. Even though their are some cops who have gave up on the teenager generation and don't care what we do. Their is still good cops who want to see teens stay out of trouble and success in life. Police overall look on teens a is that same teens mess it up for the generation and make them look bad and at the same time a good number of them stay out of stuff and do what they are suppose to do. Police tend to do whats right most of the time.
In retrospect, the relationship between cops and teens will get better it will just take some time to improve. I plan to share my information with everybody willing to learn about the problem occurring. I think this info should be posted around the town so everything could be said and out for the public eye to see. There should be no sugarcoating of this message it should be published as is. This information will also better the relationship between cops and teens by them both seeing both sides of what each other feels or has to say to one other. The world would be so better if this happen. My essential question was answered and I'm proud to say I picked a good topic. But one question still is unanswered. Do you think police do their job? Do you feel that they are here to protect you at all times? Do they make you feel safe?

Music Influence On Teens Reaction On Cops
Many teens are and studies have statement that music does effect the way they overlook cops or police officers. Many if not all rap songs talk about how cops are dirty and don't respect others. In a sense cops have been known to mess with high status like that. This makes teens show no respect for them after listening to rap music. N.W.A. plays a big role on how teens both white and black look at cops or any law official. Many teens tend to think if the celebrities don't respect cops why should we. This also makes cops think and/or know teens don't respect them and don't show any back. In one accident these teens were influence by the band korn and start being real disrespectful to police officials and they did this to the point were they were breaking the law. They faced serious charges which involve them going to court. They were on trial for a couple of months. The police official were trying to get this form of music band for being played. This is just more reason why I think the relationship will take time to improve.

Police Outlook On Teenagers
5/6/08
I have come across yet another reason why teens and police have such a diverse relationship. Police have been catching young people dealing drugs in the 21st century. The teens are getting younger by the day. Cops also have i mind state on that all teens do this. I have done minor interviews with my follow peers to see how they feel about this situation. "It's a stereotype all cops believe what that see on TV" -Maliek Bailey. "Cops seem to ignore the uniqueness of individuals by painting all member of one group with the same paint brush" - unknown. " I think that's it's wrong but then again the teens make them think this way because the majority of teens are drug dealers" -Kearia King. I can agree and disagree with the quotes I have collected. Most teens are dealing drugs but in the same sense you can not put every person in the same categories. The news reports show and have said the majority of our youth is or are dealing drugs and it is destroying our commituty.

Teens v.s. Police
4/28/08
As i have come to a greater search in my topic more information is getting me closer to my answer. Police and teens don't get alone for sereval reasons i hhave just discovered. Police think because of where you hang out or where you live plays a role in how you act. In some cases it does but you can't speak for everybody. Studies show that police also think that teens that dress a special way all act the some. They need to realize that all people are not the same and we are all different and dont act the same. We have many different qualities on each other. Teens play a role in the relationship between cops and teens because we speaking for my peers and my expiences we think all cops are pigs and out just to mess with us just of what we have on or what color skin we are basic sterotypes. One pesonal expience with the cops and I is when i was driving to the mall and the cop pulled me over because he thought i fit a discuption of someone who does look like me at all and was hassarhing me for no reason at all . But all this can be changed and needs to be. The relationship has to grow greater for everything to be okay.

Research On Law Enforcement
I have come to find more and more information about bad law enforcement. Studys show that majority of police do actually believe the sterotype that all teens are no good and that think we can never change. But this a little bit small numbers who wanna see teens strighten up and suceed in life. Studies also show that teens are more likely to show no respect to police office after having wrong encounters with them . As the research continues i have found that the teen population also don't respect law enforcement or officers because they don't return it. I also have interview as part as my research teens have seen, heard , and even encounter bad things that cops have done for examples police harshing a friend for the type of clothing he was wearing or them (cops) always think all teens are the same.

Wrong Doings Of Police
4/15/08
I first heard about bad law enforcement was growing up with the Rodney King situtation. Then I also see my first encounter with police is when they took my father to jail and he didn't do anything . I was sad and was interested in knowing what went wrong that day and what law he broke and how he did it. I rarely knew anything about laws and law enforcement. When I start looking up information I always wanted to ask my father what he did and why did he go t jail. He told me no reason at all.
I was so attached to this topic. I also hear things about what's happens or what's going to happen if I do this the wrong way. I already know what consequences can occur when doing something bad or breaking the law. Also me seeing all my friends and peers being harassed by cops and officers made me want to learn more about the right rules and laws. I always see cops pulling over young males because they think their up to something both white & black. For example they would search you just because of you having something luxury (cars & jewelry)
I begin to wonder about can they do this? Is this really legal? Can they continue to mess with the youth if nothing is done wrong. But in the outcome police always come out on top in some cases. They even plant stuff on people and say it just to take them to jail. But don't get me wrong their are some good cops out ther. The ones that really care about your saftey and do there job the right way and don't mess with young males because of stereotypes and think we are all bad. They believe that there are some good kids out there in the world.
Questions I have and would like to fing the answers to as I learn more about the law enforcement is how do police feel about protecting other people ? Are they in it for the pay checks and benefits or are some of them really doing there jobs? Why are there so many of them that don't care? Why did they give up on are generation? How can there not be any more wrong doing cops ? Keep the good ones. Why do some cops believe in stereotypes and take them to serious? Also how can we better their relationship with young males? How do they feel about teenagers? All these questions I would like to find the truthful answer to.
